Britney Spears is showing off her weight loss and stunning from her backyard while in a floral crop top. The 40-year-old pop singer, newly engaged to personal trainer Sam Asghari, seems to have been upping her workout game of late, with new photos seeing her highlight being smaller – not by much, but every pound counts. Britney updated her Instagram shortly before the holidays, sharing her usual L.A. mansion setting and posing for a low-key selfie gaining over 250,000 likes.
The “Toxic” singer, who has been vocal in the past about feeling more powerful when she weighs more, was here talking about the scale showing a number that’s lower. Spears also celebrated the “sun,” saying it had come “over at my house over the weekend.”
The photo showed the Grammy winner looking dead at the camera while backed by a low stone wall and greenery. Britney wore a plunging and vintage-style crop top with cute floral prints on it, also rocking a leaf-shaped necklace. The star wore her blonde hair all messy and down, with a caption telling fans:
“After all my twists and turns I wanted to show off my new skinny jeans 👖 and 4 pound smaller body !!!! It was hard to lose that weight and who knows if and when I will gain it back 🤷🏼♀️😂🍰 …. so here’s a moment I took of myself 📸 !!!!” Continuing, the princess of pop added: “Also, time isn’t real folks so don’t forget to set your clock on fire 🔥 this Sunday …. After all, it’s Christmas 🎄 !!!!! God speed!!!! Pssss don’t actually light your clock on fire 😬⏰.”
A like quickly came in from 30-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney had made headlines in October 2021 for dancing around her living room and celebrating having abs again.
“Well … for the love of God I finally see some definition in my abs,” she’d written. Meanwhile, back in April of last year, the hit-maker had gotten honest, telling fans:
“I was like s**t where the hell am I supposed to start 😂🤣🤭 … so I run a lot and try to eat clean and be mindful with my food unless I cheat, like last night when I ate a container of peanuts 🥜🥜🥜🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ And then it hit me … I might look better but I felt too vulnerable in my skin being this small !!!! I didn’t like it so I started boxing so now I feel stronger too 🥊🥊🥊 !!!!”
Spears continues to make headlines for celebrating her new-found freedom after 13 years of conservatorship under dad Jamie Spears. Last year, she told a Los Angeles court judge that she was planning to sue her father for “conservatorship abuse.”
