New to Nashville, Cody Howell is creating a space for himself an a saturated country market rife with inauthenticity. “High Life”, his newest single, is pure, country fun.
“High Life” is a work song flipped on its head; it’s about waiting for the day to drag on so you can finally clock out and let loose. Not one to shy away from hard work, Cody has served in the United States Navy for seven years. He knows what it means to work hard with discipline, and it’s certainly paying off in his music. Cody wrote “High Life” to commiserate with the working world, saying: “This song is for the nine to fivers and the overnighters… it’s a little bit of the grass is greener on the other side mentality.”
Cody’s already finding success in music city; after moving to Nashville to pursue music full time, he had the chance to appear on Dolly Parton’s album Rockstar. “High Life” was also featured on Spotify’s New Country Music Friday playlist right after its release, which introduced Cody to new audiences that have continued to launch him forward. He also actively supports project K-9 Hero, a charity that aims to support veterans and their families.
