September is off to a strong start as Oprah Winfrey announces Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout as the next book for her popular book club!
Today, Oprah announced that Tell Me Everything was chosen as the book to read for her book club. This is the second book written by Strout as Olive, Again was selected in 2019. In her latest novel, Strout revisits characters that fans have come to know and love.
“Elizabeth Strout welcomes us home again, back to the small town where we witness the interconnection of all the characters we’ve ever loved in her previous novels,” Winfrey said in a statement. “It’s a beautiful read reminding us that there is extraordinary love in ordinary actions.”
Strout is a Pulitzer Prize winner and her novel Olive Kitteridge has gone on to sell millions and was adapted into an award winning HBO show. Expect this novel to make some noise and only time will tell if this novel wins awards in the coming months
“The first time Oprah called me was extraordinary,” Strout said in a statement. “The second time she called me was absolutely astonishing! Two times she has chosen a book of mine for her book club and I am so humbled that even though I supposedly ‘use words’ there are almost no words I have to say how grateful I am to her. She has done an amazing job to help people of this world discover and read books; to me Oprah is a rock star.”
