Posdnuos of De La Soul offered up his thanks to Childish Gambino for “kind words” when they linked up on a tour stop.
The iconic rap group took to Instagram on Thursday (September 5) to share a series of photos and videos from Pos’s link up with the artist born Donald Glover during his Tampa Bay, FL show with Willow.
The group wrote: “We caught @donaldglover & @willowsmith at the @amaliearena last night. Both shows were spectacular! My brother Donald, thank you for the kind words on @wearedelasoul legacy. We as well stand as students amongst your beautiful art & will always be here to support.”

While the members of De La are clearly big fans of Glover, it was the legendary band that had the Hip Hop community in the palm of their hands when they finally released all their music on streaming platforms last year.
Back in June, the entire process behind it was condensed into a documentary.
The group had a tough time getting its catalog up on DSPs due to sample clearance issues and a contractual dispute with their former label, Tommy Boy. After Reservoir Media acquired their discography as part of its $100 million acquisition of the imprint in 2021, the trio’s first six albums finally became available online once again via Chrysalis Records.
The New York outfit shared a documentary that explored the journey of rereleasing their beloved music.
“Chapter 3 chronicles the iconic studio sessions leading up to the 2023 re-release and remaster of De La Soul’s catalog, one of the most storied music collections in hip-hop,” they wrote on Instagram when they dropped the teaser trailer.
“These sessions marked the first time in almost three decades that Posdnuos, Dave, Maseo, and producer Prince Paul ventured into the same studio together in service of a De La Soul project.
“Chapter 3 captures the journey of these four grown men with a legacy to protect, as well as the memories and moments that helped them build it. The documentary provides an intimate look at the creative process, camaraderie, and passion that has defined De La Soul’s enduring legacy.”
After many years in limbo, De La Soul’s Tommy Boy-era recordings like 3 Feet High & Rising, De La Soul Is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate and the AOI series were finally made available to stream and purchase digitally in March 2023.
