Britney Spears is finally free – the 39-year-old’s 13-year conservatorship has come to an end, and she’s been celebrating on Instagram. Shortly before the weekend, Judge Brenda Penny declared: “The conservatorship of the person and of the estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated,” and it’s been front-page news ever since. The princess of pop, who has been battling dad Jamie Spears in court since his grip commenced in 2008, has since updated her social media with celebratory content – not only did she share footage of #FreeBritney supporters rejoicing on streets, she went full-whammy with the backyard and home selfies.

Posting four separate updates in the same look, the “Toxic” singer stunned fans while in skimpy white shorts and a knotted green shirt, flashing her rock-hard abs and her golden tan, also reminding her followers that her posting pattern isn’t changing despite the massive news.

Spears sent out a deep smile and gaze from the backyard of her L.A. mansion as she rocked her hot pants, also showing off her plunging and silky green-patterned blouse, one worn cropped and with a vintage-style jewel necklace. The Grammy winner used no caption, then returning for an indoor shot in the same look – the star whose captions can often be lengthy seemingly had no words. The posts have garnered major celebrity attention, gaining likes from actress Selma Blair, supermodel Bella Hadid, “Teen Mom” star Kailyn Lowry, plus Britney’s 30-year-old sister Jamie Lynn.

Britney did, however, chop up her home posts with a massive and heart-felt thanks to fans, writing: “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy 🥺❤️ !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen 🙏🏼☀️🙌🏼 ???? #FreedBritney.”

Spears, who suffers from bipolar disorder and had her 2000s breakdown publicly – and some might say, unfairly – plastered all over the media, was largely considered not to need a conservatorship, a legal measure generally employed for the extremely mentally unwell. Per The Guardian: “Conservatorships are typically put in place for older or infirm people who can no longer make decisions for themselves, but in Spears’s case, the courts established an indefinite conservatorship even as she continued with her hugely successful career. The arrangement forced her to pay Ingham, her father and his legal team, and others involved in the court case.”

Spears, who now says she’ll be suing her father and this year told a Los Angeles court she wants the 69-year-old charged with “conservatorship abuse,” repeatedly made 2021 headlines for revealing the extents to which she was controlled under her father’s grip, even claiming the conservatorship forced her to keep in an IUD and take Lithium against her will. A fan outside court stated: “It took documentaries and the whole world talking about it, but oh my God, we’re finally here … I knew this day would come. But it felt like it took for ever.”

Britney also continues to make headlines for her fall engagement to personal trainer Sam Asghari. The two have been dating since 2016.
