Working in collaboration with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago-native artist and record producer Matt B created his newest album, ALKEBULAN II, which is the follow-up to 2023’s ALKEBULAN. The 10-track new LP was released through Vitae Records on August 23rd .
Just like the predecessor, ALKEBULAN II is an African-themed collection of songs. The enchanting and cinematic album finds Matt weaving a narrative based on the African experience, mirroring it with tales from his personal journey.
Lush tropical soundscapes dominate the songs, the focus track “WAMBILE” being a great illustration. I have had the song on repeat. To be honest, the whole ALKEBULAN II is worth listening to again and again.
