Netflix has brought Kristen Bell and Adam Brody together in a newly released trailer for Nobody Wants This, an upcoming romantic comedy series chronicling the budding romance between an unlikely pair.
Starring Bell (known for Veronica Mars and The Good Place) as Joanne and Brody (The O.C., Ready or Not) as Noah, Nobody Wants This is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on September 26, 2024. They will be joined by Justine Lupe (The Big Door Prize) as Morgan and Timothy Simons (Veep) as Sasha.
It is created by Erin Foster, whose experiences of falling in love with a Jewish boy serve as an inspiration for the upcoming series.
What happens in the Nobody Wants This trailer?
The trailer introduces viewers to Joanne, a newly single sex podcaster, who meets a “hot rabbi” named Noah at a mutual friend’s dinner party. Despite their differences and different outlooks on life, their undeniable chemistry immediately drew them together. Their families, however, seem to disapprove of what is going on between them, with Joanne’s sister telling her they are “a weird pair.” Noah’s mother, on the other hand, swears to Joanne that she is never going to end up with Noah.

The official synopsis reads: “An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne and Noah, can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan and his brother Sasha.”
“This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” the show’s creator told Tudum. “But I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.”
