The Game has set the record straight on his relationship with Karrueche Tran after appearing to publicly thirst over the model and actress.
In a bizarre move, the Compton rapper changed his Instagram profile picture this past weekend to a selfie of Tran, which was lifted from her own IG page.
The photo showed the 36-year-old socialite — who previously dated Chris Brown and has also been linked to Quavo — posing in a mirror while showing off her natural hair.
The move didn’t go unnoticed by The Shade Room, who posted a screenshot of The Game’s new-look avatar along with comments from bemused fans asking Tran questions like: “Why did the game put this photo of you on its account as a profile photo? [crying face emoji].”
Others were quick to speculate that the photo meant The Game and Karrueche had something going on, especially considering the rapper previously namedropped the model on his 2016 song “All Eyez.”
“Karrueche is putting up Badu type numbers when it comes to having dudes sprung [crying face emojis],” one user joked, while another wrote: “Let me find out the game make your hair stand up on your head like that yes I want it [crying face emojis].”
After catching wind of the chatter, The Game cleared up the situation in an Instagram comment of his own, denying rumors of any romance between him and Karrueche.
“That picture dope. & K is a fire person n the homie. Gone bout yall day. Yall gone be alright,” he wrote.
The rapper has since updated his profile photo to an illustration of Kobe Bryant.
The Game is currently rumored to be dating 31-year-old Shaniece Hairston, the daughter of Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada.
The “Hate It Or Love It” hitmaker revealed earlier this month that he’s expecting his fourth child, with In Touch reporting that Hairston is the mother.
The Game, who is in his mid 40s, also spoke about the prospect of being an older parent and cited JAY-Z and Mariah Carey as inspirations.
“I’m 44, so when my new child is 21, I’ll be 65. And that seems kinda old until you start thinking about who’s 65 now,” he said on the Tacos & Shawarma podcast. “I don’t know how old Mariah Carey is, but she has to be, like, 10 years older than me. Or JAY-Z or somebody like that.”
He added: “Their next big birthday is probably 60. They’re still out here looking young and looking cool, so it ain’t that bad. But at the end of the day, it’s new life.”
Age isn’t the only reason this parenting experience will be different for The Game, though.
“When I was younger, I was still a hardhead in the streets. I don’t know how I even made it to this point in my life doing the things that I was doing,” he admitted.
“But I made it, my kids are all fine, smart, straight A students, so it’ll just be interesting to parent at this age.”
