Hollywood star Johnny Depp lost his libel claim in a UK court last July that he beat ex-wife Amber Heard and is now being called a “wife-beater.”

According to reports in The Daily Mail, two UK high court of appeal judges refused permission for Mr. Depp to challenge that he was a “wife-beater.” The high court judges concluded that he assaulted Ms. Heard on 12 occasions and put her in “fear for her life.” The judge ruled that Depp, 57 assaulted Heard, 34 on several drinking and drug binges and turned the actor into a ‘monster.’

‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ star wanted a second trial after the first initial trial of the century.

Depp’s lawyers say he looks forward to presenting the irrefutable truth and substantial evidence in the $50 million-dollar case in a US court. Earlier in the appeal ruling, new hate-filled texts Mr. Depp sent about Ms. Heard were revealed to the court.

Following an explosive three-week trial last year at London’s high court, Mr. Justice Nicol dismissed Depp’s libel claim against the tabloid The Sun’s publisher finding the April 2018 column branding him a “wife-beater” to be true.

The actor already paid $861,000 in legal fees after losing the first libel trial and faces even larger charges for costs and damages relating to the recent judgment. The $50-million dollar case against Ms. Heard was delayed until April 2022.

Depp’s legal battles are also are the culprit for him losing movie roles, including Disney’s “Fantastic Beasts” following the high court judgment and could cause him damage to his reputation and losing more film roles later.
