The rumors are buzzing that rapper Kanye West wants to buy the neighboring Hudson Valley City of Rye, NY in Westchester County near Port Chester where I live but he wants to pay millions for removing the “R” in Rye and rename the town “Ye” after himself. No thanks Kanye, steer clear from here and leave the city the way it is. I’m sorry, I’m not a fan of Kanye West and he has no business here.
Kanye West is in the midst of a divorce with his soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian and has a wad of cash to spare to become the new resident and owner of Rye, NY. The rumors aren’t true and are entirely false. Thank heavens for that! He doesn’t belong here in my neck of the woods!
The Rye Record reported that West’s wealth offers 10% to erase both the city and school bond in exchange for the name change.
According to Insider.com, The local media outlet quoted an anonymous source who is allegedly close to West.
“Kanye isn’t into LA’s fakeness right now, the source reportedly told The Rye Record of West’s rumored move to Rye. “People are quick to judge him [and he is] really a sensitive dude. He needs to live somewhere where people don’t care that he’s famous.”
The record also reported that West was spotted looking at properties with realtors with plans for a recording studio and a church for his Sunday services.
Honestly, I doubt this is for real and is just nothing more than a rumor. He doesn’t belong here and I’m certain Rye officials won’t go for the name change even with his offering of a motherload of cash. He should stay in L.A. with the rest of the celebrities.
