I have been a fan of Alyssa Milano’s television acting for a long time. I mostly watched her on Charmed. Since being on popular shows, she has become an activist with an important voice. She uses her celebrity status and social media platforms to educate her audience about social causes and political issues.
It is heartbreaking that she tested positive for Covid-19. She documented her journey with this horrible disease on social media in order to let the fans know that she was ok, and that she was going to fight through it. I can only put myself in those shoes and wonder if I would be strong and brave enough to have that type of transparency with my fans. Her sharing videos of what she has been going through will inspire others to take Covid-19 seriously and do what they can to stop it.
This is an important election year, and Milano’s voice has a significant influence. Hopefully she will recover and use her voice to create the kinds of changes she would like to see in society and in politics.
