Wu-Tang Members Perform On Staten Island Ferry For Hilfiger Show

Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah returned to their early days, riding a (now decommissioned) Staten Island Ferry boat this week to perform for Tommy Hifiger’s 2024 New York Fashion Week show.

Going down on Sunday (September 8), the Wu-Tang Clan legends rocked the signature red, white and blue line as they performed smash hits including “C.R.E.A.M.” and “Ice Cream.”

Questlove manned the turntables and celebrity attendees included Damson Idris, Olympic gold medalists Suni Lee and Gabrielle Thomas and more.

While the Wu-Tang members are mainly off doing their own individual things these days, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Inspectah Deck  reunited on wax last year on Statik Selektah‘s “Unpredictable.”

The song was the first single off Statik’s album Round Trip.

Deck sets the tone as he opens up the track with his hard-hitting bars, “So savage, total my average that’s GOAT status/ Addicts fiending for these lines, that’s a coke habit.”

Fans may recognize the “Soul Dog” sample Statik used – it’s the same one Common used on “Hungry” from his One Day It’ll All Make Sense album.

Meanwhile, the Hilfiger brand teamed up with DJ Khaled earlier this year for a golf-themed Tommy x We The Best collection. It features nine different polo shirts inspired by Hilfiger’s 1990s styles, which became iconic in Hip Hop when they were adopted by artists like Grand Puba, Snoop Dogg and Aaliyah.

Appropriately, Puba’s verse on Mary J. Blige’s 1992 classic “What’s the 411?” which shouts out Hilfiger and brags about “[D]oin’ lovely in all sports/ Even swing the pole at the hole on my golf course,” soundtracks an ad for the collection.

To promote the brand, Khaled sent pieces from the collection to some of his peers, including Fat Joe, Ludacris and Latto.

Joe, when opening up the shirts, seemingly had not yet viewed the above ad, as he noted: “We gotta get Grand Puba to do the soundtrack or something.”

Ludacris looked legitimately thrilled at the throwback-style designs.

“You motherfucker! Bro, this is some College Park, Banneker High School shit,” he said, referring to the Fulton County high school from which he graduated in 1995.

DJ Khaled said on Instagram that all profits from the collection would go to his We The Best Foundation, which provides scholarships, music programs, and more for children in the Miami area.
