Two men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with plans to target major events in Vienna, including Taylor Swift‘s highly anticipated concerts.

As reported by The Blast, Vienna State Police Director Franz Ruf and Police Chief Gerhard Purstl revealed that one of the suspects, a 19-year-old, had allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Austrian officials later released more details about the terror plot that led to the cancellation of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts, explaining that the men had engaged in “specific preparatory actions for a terrorist attack” with plans to target the concerts.

Following the news, Travis Kelce revealed if he would fly out to Europe to be with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, amid the terrifying terroristic threats.

An insider told Page Six that while Travis Kelce is concerned about his girlfriend following the terrorist attack threats at her Eras Tour show in Vienna, he has no plans to fly out to be with her.

“He’s very concerned,” the source revealed, noting that the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player “immediately” reached out to Swift as soon as he heard the news. However, he won’t be rushing to Europe due to his NFL commitments.

For those unaware, the Chiefs tight end and his teammates are currently in training camp, gearing up for the 2024 football season, which kicks off on September 5.

“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” Barracuda Music said in a statement, adding that all tickets purchased “will be automatically refunded within the next ten business days.”

A post was also shared on the Taylor Nation social media account, citing “safety” reasons for the decision to call off the concerts.

The Eras Tour has captivated audiences by highlighting the evolution of Taylor Swift’s music across her various albums, known as “Eras,” ranging from her debut self-titled album to her latest releases. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer acknowledged that the cancellation is a “bitter disappointment for all fans in Austria,” but knows it was the right thing to do.

“We live in a time in which violent means are being used to attack our Western way of life,” he said. “Islamist terrorism threatens security and freedom in many Western countries. This is precisely why we will not give up our values ​​​​such as freedom and democracy, but will defend them even more vehemently.”

Details Surrounding The Suspects Released By Authorities

According to authorities, it was later discovered that his intent was to detonate a device near Swift’s concert venue. Another suspect–a 17-year-old–had recently ended a relationship with his girlfriend.

Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, as reported by Le Monde, stated that one of the suspects aimed to kill himself as well as a large number of people at Swift’s concert, which was scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

Investigators also uncovered an alarming number of items at the suspect’s apartment, including assembled homemade explosives, hydrogen peroxide, detonators, and cables, according to NBC News.

Another suspect, who was found in the stadium area at the time of his detention and has since refused to cooperate with authorities, was detained. Authorities had estimated that about 65,000 fans would attend each of Swift’s Vienna shows. All ticket holders will receive a refund.
