On September 18, BTS‘s RM surprised ARMYs when he visited Weverse. As he is currently busy fulfilling his mandatory military service, RM was only on for a short time, but he made it count by interacting with several fans’ posts.

RM garnered attention for his honest feelings about his military service and his flirty responses to ARMYs.

Yet, one of his responses is going viral.

An ARMY named Julie wrote a heartfelt letter to her bias and shared it via Weverse. Yet she addressed it to Matthew rather than RM, confusing the BTS member, who asked, “Who’s Matthew?”

The unexpected interaction quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), going viral among ARMYs. Over 10K related tweets have been shared at the time of writing.

The interaction also sparked many hilarious memes.

ARMYs visualized the incident happening.

However, it also raised the question: Who is Matthew? Some were curious about this mystery man.

Multi-fans had a clue, though. ZEROSEs recognized Matthew as the ZEROBASEONE member Seok Matthew.

Some fans even imagined the most unexpected fanfiction love triangle: BTS’s RM, ZEROBASEONE’s Matthew, and KISS OF LIFE‘s Julie (since the original poster was named Julie).

 

Yet, some were curious about the real Julie’s reaction to her unexpected viral interaction with RM.

The real Julie stood up and addressed the matter via X. They revealed how the mistake occurred. Julie has different messages saved in their notes app for different idols, and while panicking over RM’s sudden Weverse activity, Julie accidentally copied and pasted the wrong one. But, yes, Matthew is ZEROBASEONE’s Seok Matthew!

Now, ZEROSEs are just hoping Matthew himself gets in on the joke and identifies himself.
