In 2002, Whitney was conceived from her relationship with Eric Hatter with whom Kim has been in a relationship with since her separation with Eminem. Why Eminem decided to adopt the child of his ex-wife?
The reason why Eminem adopted Whitney was that her biological father, Eric Hatter was an ex-convict who has been involved in various criminal activities not just that but he also has faced a number of drug charges. Eric Hatter happens to be on the run since Whitney birth and she never met his biological father. On the other hand, her biological mother, Kimberly was a troubled woman too, she was a serious drug addict.
Whitney’s biological grandmother, Mary, tried to sue Eric Hatter for visitation rights of his daughter on his behalf but this action was unfruitful. Hence there was no one who could take care of Whitney, so Eminem decided to adopt her legally to give her a better life that her biological parents couldn’t.
Eminem and Kimberly remarried again
Three years later, after Whitney was born and adopted by Eminem. In January 2006, Kimberly and Eminem got back again, the couple married for the second time which also ended badly. He filed for second divorce in April 2006 and they mutually agreed on joint custody of their first born, Hailie.
However, Eminem now lives with all of his three daughters under one roof. Because of Whitney’s restless childhood, she had problems behaving and acting. As her biological parents have always been on the spot light, it was hard for her to cope up with her social and school life. As of now, Whitney’s is finishing her high school. She has now become socially active because of her popularity all over social media sites.
