How Will Web 3.0 Impact Digital and Social Media?

Even though it is in the beginning stages, Web 3.0 websites are projected to appear vastly on the internet over the next couple of years. Web 3.0 is somewhat of a difficult topic as all of the information regarding the technology essentially has the same data. Technology users are learning as much about Web 3.0 as possible in order to stay informed.

In 1994, Web 1.0 was released on the internet. They were static pages with the majority of it composed of text and a few images. This revolutionized the internet at the time, but everything looked like a Wikipedia page. There was little that could be done with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

In 2004, Web 2.0 was released on the internet. It was more interactive because it did allow users to apply more coding languages in order to make dynamic pages. All of the leading social media websites are created in Web 2.0, including Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and many others.

Now Web 3.0 is here. It gives website users the ability to add their content to the blockchain, which provides security, authenticity and ownership of data. It takes the centralized networks of today’s social media websites and makes them decentralized. It also incorporates artificial intelligence (AI). AI will make surfing the internet more personalized than Web 2.0.

It is unclear how significant of an impact Web 3.0 will have on social and digital media. The subject is active among internet entrepreneurs as they figure out how their organizations will need to bring new innovations to its platforms.
