Westside Gunn Announces New Album ‘Still Praying’

Westside Gunn is not letting his foot off the gas and has announced that he has another album on the way called Still Praying.

The Griselda rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday (September 4) and posted what appears to be the cover art for the project, which is a photo of the recently deceased wrestler Sidney “Sid Vicious” Eudy.

He captioned the post: “STILL PRAYING” COMING SOON [goat emoji, scorpion emoji, scales emoji] @griseldarecords,” confirming in the comments section that the release is an album and not just a single.

Gunn further fueled excitement by calling it “a FUCKIN ART PIECE.”

More details, including a release date, have yet to be announced.

Still Praying, which appears to be a continuation of previous albums Pray For Paris and And Then You Pray For Me, is one of a number of projects that Westside Gunn has confirmed are the works.

In addition to the long-teased Michelle Records, he announced last month that he’ll be releasing a new album called Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy).

The Buffalo, New York native initially shared the news on Instagram after taking a short break from the public eye following the death of his close associate Infinite a.k.a. Big Dump, who he affectionately referred to as his “big bro.”

“ALOOOOOOT of ppl been hitting me in my Dms just making sure I’m good, am I ok mentally/physically bc I haven’t been on the scene like that so I’m just posting this to let y’all know I’m still SUPER FLYGOD everyday!!!!!” he wrote.

“I’m still creating new ideas to attack the culture, I’ve been designing some incredible pieces and Yes I’m done with my new Album, physically as u can see I’m looking better than ever, mentally I think I’m focused more than I’ve ever been.”

He later revealed the album title, writing: “FLYGOD IS AN AWESOME GOD III (TRILOGY). This ALBUM IS KRAAAAAZY!!!! I had to Bring the Mask back out bc this shit toooo RAW & DUSTY, I know the game Miss me even though my kids been doing a great job with entertaining… YOUR FATHERS BACK HOME @griseldarecords x MICHELLE.”

It’s possible that Still Praying will arrive before Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy), with Westside Gunn recently revealing that he plans to first drop a project he created in just 24 hours.

This recording spree marks a sharp U-turn from comments that the “Euro Step” MC made last year when he declared that And Then You Pray For Me would be his last studio album.

“[This is] going to be the last album where I take the time to say ‘this is an album,’” he told Rolling Stone. “When I was doing the Hitler Wears Hermes series, I was doing all them projects like mixtapes. I was recording the whole shit in two, three days.

“I’m not saying I won’t come with a five-song EP with Madlib or I won’t do a seven-song EP with Alchemist or I won’t rap. I’ll do all of that, but making a studio album, I’m done with all that.”
