Veronica Beard Hosted a Luncheon at Chateau Marmont to Celebrate its Handbag Launch

Despite the persistent multi-day downpour in LA, Angelenos braved the conditions to uphold their social commitments. On Tuesday, a luncheon celebrating the launch of Veronica Beard’s handbags at the iconic Chateau Marmont served as a testament to their determination.

Upon arrival, guests were whisked away from their cars under umbrellas into the tented courtyard of the Chateau, where cocktail hour took on a unique twist. The Terrace had been transformed into a “Goodie Bag bar,” where each attendee was presented with one of the new handbags—an everyday tote aptly named the Goody Bag. They were then guided from station to station, filling their bags with an assortment of items, from pairs of Chimi Eyewear to Monika Blunder beauty products, personalized Ossa phone cases, and leather-bound notebooks inscribed with the mantra “make it happen.” Once the Goody Bags were brimming with goodies, it was time for lunch.

In attendance were Mandy Moore, Julianne Hough, Poppy Delevingne, Rachel Zoe, Kathy Hilton, Brianne Howey, Jasmine Tookes, Roselyn Sanchez, Elaine Welteroth, Morgan Stewart, and more. As guests settled into their seats, the conversation naturally gravitated toward the place settings. Each plate featured the distinctive Veronica Beard crest, with guests’ names delicately scripted in elegant cursive.

The Veronicas, founders of the brand and sisters-in-law Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard, kicked off the lunch with a toast. “We are so grateful you came out in this crazy weather. I feel we should have given you a purse and a puppy,” said Veronica Swanson Beard. Her sentiment was echoed by Veronica Miele Beard. “All of you inspire us when we design. You guys are bosses. Thank you for coming.”

While just a few hours earlier, the rain may have felt like an annoyance, the gentle patter of rain on the tent set a cozy backdrop for the event. As family-style bowls of shrimp cocktail and garden salads made their rounds, guests enjoyed the intimate atmosphere. “I am most excited to get these bags into the world,” Veronica Swanson Beard told Vogue. “I think handbags complete the Veronica Beard uniform… you hold your life in your handbag.” Indeed, as guests returned to the hustle and bustle of the wet Los Angeles day, they grabbed their Veronica Beard Goody bags, their outfits now complete according to the Veronicas.
