Twisters has been ripping through the box office, racking up over $300 million so far. Its theatrical run isn’t over yet, but the film is now available to rent or buy through Prime Video, iTunes, or YouTube. Amateur storm chasers can also pre-order a copy on 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, or DVD, but the release date has not yet been announced.

Helmed by Minari director Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters follows the reckless, social media-savvy Tyler Owens, played by Glen Powell, and Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Kate Carter, a meteorologist and former storm chaser with an intuitive sense of the path of tornadoes. They start as rivals, but it’s hardly a spoiler to say sparks soon fly between them.

Twisters is a standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister, which was itself a huge box-office smash. The 1996 film was propelled by an ensemble cast including Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and veteran character actors like Cary Elwes and Alan Ruck. In addition to Powell and Edgar-Jones, Twisters stars Anthony Ramos, Kiernan Shipka, David Coronswet, and Maura Tierney.

Twisters was filmed primarily in Oklahoma, and its country-heavy soundtrack includes Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Leon Bridges, and Jelly Roll. The soundtrack was also released on exclusive vinyl pressings.

As a Universal release, Twisters will eventually land on Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal. There is no official word on when the film will be available for streaming, so fans who want to watch the film at home will have to either rent or by a digital copy, or pre-order the Blu-Ray or DVD.

The film is available on Prime Video to rent for $19.99 or buy for $24.99.

Twisters (4K UltraHD)

Twisters is available to pre-order on 4K UltraHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD. The release date has not been announced yet.

Twisters Steelbook Blu-Ray

Twisters is also getting the SteelBook treatment, exclusively at Walmart. Fans will have to wait a while, though, because the SteelBook edition won’t be released until Jul 1, 2025.

Twister (4K/UHD)

The original 1996 film can be found on DVD, Blu-Ray, or 4K UltraHD if you want to see a cow fly in the clearest resolution possible.
