Four years ago today, President Obama invited Trump into the Oval Office to discuss the peaceful transition of power. Obama invited Trump for a private meeting despite Trump having spent the previous 8 years saying Obama wasn’t an American at all, but a Kenyan who faked his birth certificate. Obama didn’t whine and pretend Trump didn’t win. Obama didn’t cry foul or accuse the GOP of cheating. He did his job and didn’t attempt to override the will of the American people…even though the majority didn’t even vote for Trump. Today Trump and top Republicans are pretending an election didn’t happen, in a direct assault on democracy and spitting in the faces of the almost 80 million Americans who voted for Joe Biden.
