The Sinner by Marni Mann

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first time I saw her, I wanted her.
The second time I saw her, I knew she had to be mine.
Beautiful blonde hair. Cornflower blue eyes. Body to die for.
All things I knew I couldn’t live without.
But after one night, she ghosted me, leaving me desperate for another taste.
I was usually the one to walk out the door before the morning light came.
This time, it was her, but not without becoming my obsession in the process.
Lily was a mystery.
She had a past shrouded in secrets she was unwilling to divulge.
She was running from something, and I was determined to find out what it was.
And once I did, I’d do anything to protect her.
They called me the sinner for a reason.
Because I wouldn’t hesitate to burn down the world or cross any line to save her.

A scorching hot, he falls first, touch her and die, billionaire romance.

The Sinner

Payback for the playboy!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: ☺️😊😁😉🥰
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Lily – she is a flight attendant working in first class on her first trip to Edinburgh Scotland. Six months ago, she broke up with David, her handsome type A boyfriend and she hasn’t dated since. The relationship left her emotionally unavailable. She never wanted to be with someone like him again.

The Hero: Brady – he and his brothers, along with the children of their biggest rivals had joined forces to make the largest hotel corporation in the world. Brady was currently on his way to Edinburgh to buy land for a new hotel or an existing hotel that he can completely redevelop. He is not happy that his brother and new wife took the company jet to fly to Hawaii, so Brady had to fly commercial for the first time in quite a while. He is the definition of a playboy, a one and done kind of guy who makes sure the women he is with know that going in.

The story: Brady saw Lily at the airport and immediately wanted her, so when she turned up as the first-class flight attendant on his flight, he started flirting with her from the start. He liked her so much that he talked her into going to his hotel after the flight and they had an explosive one-night stand that they both would remember for quite some time. Lily ghosted him in the morning.

This was the kind of book that I love. Brady was a confirmed bachelor who fell hard for Lily, and though Lily did have a deep attraction to Brady, she had some things going on in her life that made it so she couldn’t get involved in a relationship. I think it was pretty funny that Brady found it so hard to accept that he was getting the brush off, the same thing he had been giving to countless women. He just couldn’t figure out why someone wouldn’t want to be with him.

This audiobook was told in two points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Ava Erickson and Tor Thom. These are two of my favorite narrators and they both always do a terrific job. I like Tor Thom for his super deep voice. Ava Erickson has a soft, feminine voice that always sounds natural and never like she is reading.
