The Jackson 5’s Member, Tito Jackson Died at Age 70

The Jackson 5 Member, Tito Jackson died at the age of 70. Jackson’s three sons, who formed the R&B-pop band 3T in the 1990s confirmed the news on that group’s social media accounts. At the time of writing, the official cause of death has not been determined.

3TWorld shared the news via Instagram and wrote, “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as “Coach Tito” or some know him as “Poppa T.” Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be “Tito Time” for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is “Love One Another.” We love you Pops. Your boys, Taj, Taryll and TJ”

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, in Gary, Indiana, Tito was an integral part of the Jackson family’s musical dynasty. He, along with his brothers Michael, Jermaine, Marlon, and Jackie, formed The Jackson 5 in the 1960s. They were later inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Tito started a solo profession in 2003 performing as a blues musician. Throughout his career, he was nominated for three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Jackson 5.
