Genre: High Fantasy

Summary: One day, Han and his clan friend, Dancer, confront three young wizards setting fire to the sacred mountain of Hanalea. Han takes an amulet from Micah Bayar, son of the High Wizard, to keep him from using it against them. Soon Han learns that the amulet has an evil history, it once belonged to the Demon King, the wizard who nearly destroyed the world a millennium ago. With a magical piece that powerful at stake, Han knows that the Bayars will stop at nothing to get it back.

The Demon King is a book I first read back in 2017. Never continue with the series. Re-reading it I still like the book but, not as much as the first time.

Starting with what good. The way the author adds to the world building between the alternating two perspectives is well done. The low life with Hans and the high life with Raisa is different as night and day.

The characters are interesting. Raisa is more flash out then Hans but, I did find Hans’ storyline more interesting.

The mythology of the world follows this warrior princess, Hanalea who defected the Demon King. From Han perspective, he learns that may not be what actually happen. Through this hints are drop that the wizards are pulling the strings.

The writing is good. Its distinct enough between the POVs. All those it could be improve.

I am willing to read the next book because I want to know what happens next. Plus I have the whole series. Might as well see where it goes from here.

Have you read this book?

Have you read the complete series?

Let me know in the comments.
