Fans of the recently released sci-fantasy show Time Bandits have some bad news. The Taika Waititi-led series created for Apple TV+ has been canceled. Thus, Time Bandits not getting renewed for season 2 has left many devastated.

Taika Waititi’s canceled Time Bandits not getting a Season 2 on Apple TV+

The show stars big names like Friends star Lisa Kudrow, Jemaine Clement, and Taika Waititi in major roles and aired on Apple TV+ in July 2024. It was a huge hit in the United Kingdom. As per the outlet, the show is a remake of the 1981 classic movie Time Bandits, which was directed by Terry Gilliam.

Although no official reason behind the cancelation has been revealed yet, according to Deadline, who first reported the news, the show was not able to attract much of audience in the U.S. and didn’t rank in the top 10 rankings of Nielsen.

Talking about the show in July, Time Bandits’ creator Iain Morris said, “I think ‘Time Bandits’ is actually almost the lost classic. You mention it to a lot of people and they’ve never heard of it, but you meet other people and it’s their favorite film. But they are quite rare. So if you’re bringing these brilliant ideas that people have and these brilliant worlds, and expanding and changing and introducing them to a new audience, I think it’s great.”
