The Squid Game franchise is getting a new reality show spinoff set to air on Netflix. The new production will feature contestants in a Squid Game-inspired competition in much the same way as the characters on the popular television show. However, it is safe to assert that the reality show will not have the risky obstacles that take place in the original production.
The biggest risk in Squid Game: The Challenge is for contestants to go home without a prize.
The show is set for 10 new episodes which will showcase 456 contestants competing for the opportunity to acquire a million-dollar prize.
The show is currently recruiting contestants online. They are just beginning this process and will provide a release date after they recruit a full roster of contestants.
Squid Game is the most-watched show in the history of Netflix. It had 1.65 billion views in less than 30 days after its debut on the service in September 2021. Netflix has already confirmed that season 2 is in development.
