Sophie Green is a UK-based artist who gives attention to wildlife conservation through her paintings. Green’s paintings depict many wild animals, from an elephant, tiger, bison, a herd of bulls, a giraffe, peacock, a penguin flock, to polar bears.

Green’s artworks show her talents to create a realistic painting that looks like a photograph. Her work with its incredible details makes a hyper-realistic painting. In art history, this kind of work is called Photo-realism, in which the painter used a photograph to reproduce a realistic image. Photo-realism began in the 1960s by American artists, such as Richard Estes, Ralph Goings, and Audrey Flack. They attempted to paint what the camera could record.

Sophie Green is not only portraying the beauty of the natural world but also reflecting on its vulnerability. She uses her art to raise awareness for conservation issues and encourage others to consider that they also can do something that makes a difference.
