Sony PlayStation 5 Pre-order on Amazon.com

Playstation 5

It is hard to believe, but the most current “console wars” between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are coming to a close. Some people think that console wars are between Sony and Microsoft, as Nintendo continues to make hardware that is based on mobility and player movement, which does not make their products typical consoles.

It has also been said that Sony and Microsoft are not directly competing against each other either. While both the PlayStation and Xbox have a similar gaming library, each company has their own exclusives games and have gravitated to different parts of innovation. For example, Xbox Microsoft places a strong emphasis on community gaming through the extraordinarily popular Xbox Live. Microsoft is also connecting Xbox games to PCs, laptops and tablets running Microsoft Windows operating system in order to give gamers more options of how-to and where to play their games. Sony also has a popular community gaming platform with PlayStation Plus, but the company prides itself on having the most diverse gaming library for its players.

At launch, PlayStation 5 will be priced at $499.99 and the Digital PlayStation 5 at $399.99 on November 12th in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. It will be available in other countries starting November 19th. The console is available for pre-order, but Amazon.com recently sold out of its pre-orders and does not have a date set as to when more products will be available.

BestBuy has also run out of pre-orders. Walmart is out of pre-orders but they do have the PlayStation 5 controller and four games available right now. GameStop has not made an official announcement regarding the availability of the PlayStation 5, which indicates that they probably have some inventory and they are deciding on distributing it online or at their stores; so far, GameStop appears to be a good place to possibly land a PlayStation 5 pre-order. Target, Curry’s PC World, Argos, The Game Collection website (is out of system pre-orders but does have games and accessories available), and nearly all other stores that sell gaming products and services are out of pre-orders.

Amazon.com usually gets a large quantity of the products and services they sell. Many gamers are waiting for Amazon to acquire another round of inventory because of the company’s reliability and popularity as a product distributor for games over the past decade.

Sony PlayStation 5 will have an astounding 19 games available at launch including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Astro’s Playroom, Bugsnax, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Demon’s Souls, Destruction Allstars, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, Fortnite, Godfall, Just Dance 2021, Maneater, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Spider-man: Remastered, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, NBA2k21, Observer: System Redux, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, The Pathless, and Watch Dogs Legion.

Another major selling point for the PlayStation 5 is its backward compatibility with most PS4 titles. Gamers who have a PlayStation 5 at launch will have the ability to continue playing their favorite PS4 titles or play any of the initial releases for the console.

The official data regarding exactly how many PlayStation 5 units have been pre-ordered is not available. However, it is safe to say that it is a large number if Amazon and all major gaming retailers are out of pre-orders. A representative of Amazon recently stated that the company is doing everything it can to make sure that it delivers the PlayStation 5 to gamers that pre-ordered on launch day. This indicates that it is going to be a challenge to ensure that everyone gains access to the console on day one, but Amazon always meets or exceeds the expectations of the consumer, it is safe to say that everyone who has pre-ordered the PlayStation 5 through Amazon will get it on launch day.
