Simone Biles has been posting jaw-dropping bikini snaps of her Gold Medal figure, and she’s also been opening up on how she maintains it. The Olympic gymnast, freshly engaged to NFL player Jonathan Owens, has been updating her Instagram with vacation snaps, and fans who follow her know that where Simone goes, so does protein. The Uber Eats face, unveiled as the face of the takeout delivery chain over the pandemic, has spoken up on her attitudes towards nutrition and fitness – check them out below.
Simone, followed by 6.9 million on Instagram, updated from a paradise-like and tropical island while “living a bikini kind of life” in March, also joined by her beau. The beachy snaps showed the Ohio native’s muscle machine of a body, one that’s fueled by careful nutrition – without going overboard.
In October 2020, and while speaking to Women’s Health, Biles revealed that she refuses to “track” her intake.
“I eat what I feel good with and try not to overeat or stuff myself because I’m always at the gym,” she told the magazine, adding: “For gymnasts, in particular, [tracking] can lead to health problems and eating issues, so I just eat what I know I can and should.” Simone, who has shared breakfast in bed snaps complete with buttery toast and mimosas over weekends, continued: “I wake up so early before practice, which is at seven, so sometimes I’ll grab a quick bite and sometimes I won’t.”
It wasn’t long before the athlete mentioned a little protein, though. “I love having a Core Power Protein Shake after a workout. Usually I drink half after the first practice and half after the second practice. One of my favorite flavors at the moment is vanilla. It always changes, but it’s currently vanilla,” Biles added. The 25-year-old more than made her love of cheat foods known during her Uber Eats promo, though, highlighting her love of cauliflower pizza.
As to sweet treats, Simone doesn’t deprive herself there, either. She told Women’s Health: “I do bake chocolate chip cookies myself and whenever I do I usually make s’mores cookies. I put a graham cracker at the bottom, marshmallows and chocolate on the top, and then I wrap it in cookie dough and bake it. That’s my favorite cookie to bake.” Simone also prefers joints near home – she lives in Houston, TX. “I really like home restaurants that are in the area because I feel like I get to be closer with them. I’m not picky. I’ll try any new restaurant,” she confirmed.
