Sabrina Carpenter Opens Up About Her Iconic Outros
In an interview with Teen Vogue at our annual summit in L.A. back in 2022, Carpenter opened up about the “Nonsense” outros, discussing the significant effort involved in crafting them. She emphasized that whether they were spontaneously improvised or planned in advance, each outro required meticulous preparation.
“I was excited to find a way to switch up every single show and have it be slightly different, and then I screwed myself over because I’ll be 90 rewriting this outro,” Carpenter admitted at the time.
“[Short n’ Sweet] is very different from [her] last album,” she said, per Just Jared. “Where I questioned it until the day before it came out, like, ‘Is it done?’ and, ‘Could I have changed it?’ and ‘Could I have written another song?’”
“And to be fair, I do have a hard time with the fact that I do feel like life doesn’t stop,” she added. “So it’s really hard to tell when a chapter of your life should be book-ended.”
