Salma Hayek has admitted dropping the weight she gained for movie “House of Gucci” wasn’t an easy ride. The 55-year-old actress and Hollywood superstar made 2021 headlines for joining co-star Lady Gaga in the much-anticipated movie, and, much like the “Bad Romance” singer, she gained weight for the role.
Turns out, Hayek wasn’t too happy with her attempts to shed the pounds she gained. Opening up after the movie’s release, the Mexican shared her struggle, stating:
“It was not even the end of the holiday yet, and I was like, ‘Okay, bring me caftans!” Speaking to In Style, the mom of one added:
“I’ve lost very little. You go, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa.’ You gain it so fast, but it takes so long to lose it.”
Hayek did, however, show appreciation for how much “mileage” she feels her body’s gotten in its 55 years. Continuing, the “Frida” star revealed “how much pressure and judgment I put on it, my body has been incredibly generous. I don’t think I am some hot tamale, but I know that for my age, for the lifestyle that I lived, I’m not doing too badly. And I attribute all of this to meditation.” And that Instagram account has been showing plenty of hot tamale action. Salma kicked off 2022 from an undisclosed and tropical vacation as she flaunted her famous bikini body from shores and amid crashing waves, with the photos bringing in more of the skimpy swimwear Hayek is so famous for. Salma had, back in 2021, joked about posting swimwear snaps to social media, saying she wasn’t giving up any time soon. That said, the actress also revealed that she finds posting bikini shots “liberating.”
Salma, also bringing fans Amazon Prime Video movie “Bliss” and “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” in 2021, has made headlines throughout her approaching middle age for valuing what she has. The star was 50 when she opened up to British health chain Holmes Place, stating:
“Well, I feel very lucky. I think I have achieved a lot of things at my age. I think I am very, very, lucky because I found love. You know, I think this is number one, the greatest achievement is that I found a fantastic partner to share my life with that I am still in love with, and that supports me and inspires me to grow. I also think I am so lucky because I was able to have a child. Because I had my child late in my life and it was very possible that I couldn’t and I had my child.”
Salma is a mom to teen daughter Valentina, shared with husband Pinault.
