A flexible residency in France, meant for artists who are seeking a program for numerous artistic and personal reasons where artists can take private lessons, a workshop, or have a pause in travels to create. All arts are welcome.
The IaRex l’Atelier, located in France’s Var region, in the port town of beautiful Saint-Raphaël, and is near several other beautiful places: the historic port town of Fréjus with its Roman ruins, the Côte d’Azur and a mountainous area called l’Esterel and the Gorge du Verdun, where hikers, bikers and nature lovers thrive. Beach is near for artists who are into beach, at sandy heaven, under the red rocks and the intense azure skies of the Mediterranean. Artists are free to stretch out and explore during the time when they create. There are practicalities offered, parking, nearby hardware store, organic market, two supermarkets, and bakeries within a 5-minute walk. The bus stop is on the corner, as the studio is in a quiet, industrial/artisanal area where artists can feel the feeling. The program offers focused studies, private lessons or individually-designed programs are available.
Artists can choose accommodation and recommended AirBnB’s located close to the studio from September to June, with the average monthly studio apartment rental of 700-900 euros. A list of accommodations are all close to the studio. The flex residency offer extended amount of time that allow people to relax in the town, explore the variety of activities, other villages, and create a body of work in a relaxed atmosphere. The main goal is exchange creative process and enjoy working with other artists.
There are outdoor farmers markets as well as antique and art markets. Within a five minute walk from the studio, there are 3 supermarkets, 1 organic market, 2 boulangeries, a hardware store, pharmacy, and a special frozen food store(Picard).

Named after a WWII Allied landing, Débarquement Beach faces the island Île d’Or. To the west is the landmark Notre Dame de la Victorie Basilica, built from sandstone in the 19th century. Set atop a parking garage, Bonaparte Garden overlooks the bay.”

Located in between Frejus and its more famous around area, St. Tropez and Cannes, St. Raphael is in the department of Var, in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur (PACA). It is a lively seaside resort with well maintained beaches and a small harbour standing in the shadow of the forested hills of the Massif des Maures. It has a resident population of around 34,000 people which increases dramatically in the summer months as St. Raphael is a popular holiday destination..
