UK Art Competition

The RSMA seeks submissions of paintings and sculptures about the sea and the marine environment. All art should involve tidal water. It is the Society’s Annual Exhibition that involves a few prizes and awards, including The Charles Pears Award for an outstanding work by a non-member. In the UK it is recognized as a showcase for the best in contemporary marine art.

 

Any artist over 18 may submit, the UK or international. Subject matter must be essentially marine, connected to a tidal waters subject, topographical, historical, still life, or figure painting. Acceptable media are oil, acrylic, watercolor, original prints of any media, mixed media, drawings, pastels, or sculpture. The submission fee is £20 per work.

The deadline is the 9th of July 2021.

The awards are:

·         Baltic Exchange Award: £2,000

·         Charles Pears Award: £500

·         Kenneth Denton Award: £500

·         Murray’s Commercial Fishing Award: £500

·         RSMA Award: £300 (For best small painting, 30cm and under)
