Radiohead Reconvened for Rehearsals, Says Colin Greenwood

It’s been six years since Radiohead last performed a concert together, and with the band’s members busy with a variety of different side projects, a reunion doesn’t appear in the cards anytime soon. However, during a Q&A at the Hay Festival Querétaro on Sunday, bassist Colin Greenwood revealed that the members of Radiohead recently got together to play music.

“We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs,” Greenwood explained. “And it was really fun, had a really good time.”

Greenwood cautioned that the band has no formal plans on the books. “We’re still talking all the time, we just need to make a plan and get some time together sorted out in advance,” the musician continued.

For now, Greenwood will spend the next several months touring as member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, filling in for bassist Martyn Casey. He’s also set to publish a photo book chronicling Radiohead’s 14-year period between 2003 and 2016.

Meanwhile, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist Jonny Greenwood are gearing up to release their latest album as The Smile, Cutouts, which is set for release on October 4th. Yorke is also set to embark on a rare solo tour later this year.

Guitarist Ed O’Brien is said to be working on a new solo album.
