Pleasantville Music Festival Cancelled for the Second Straight Year

Bad news music fans—for the second straight year the Annual Pleasantville Music Festival was canned and Covid is still to blame. The event is usually held annually at Parkway Field in Pleasantville, NY. Organizers decided that unfortunately, they won’t be able to host the event due to the confines of the state’s capacity limitations for large-scale events. Even though the population is being vaccinated and many have been already, Covid is still a threat to the community. The possibility of moving the festival later in the year is being explored but until Covid restrictions are lifted it looks to be at a stand-still. They postponed the popular music festival until July 9, 2022.

Here’s the statement on the festival’s website from Executive Director Bruce Figler:

“It is with great sadness that we once again are compelled to report that we will be unable to hold our festival this July. COVID-19 infections have not diminished enough to satisfy health officials, leading the State of  New York to prohibit entities from holding outdoor events in the size we need to succeed. Even though there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel, that light remains too far off in the distance for us to properly plan.”

“We are exploring the possibility of finding an alternate date later in the year when, hopefully, things will have improved, but there will be many obstacles to overcome. Regardless of what happens this year, mark your calendar for July 9, 2022, because that promises to be a party for the ages. In the meantime, please keep an eye on our website and social media for further updates.”

Best wishes and please stay safe,
The Pleasantville Music Festival team
Bruce Figler, Executive Director

My sister musician Patti Rothberg performed at PMF in July 2011. I hope to see her perform again there in July 2022. I filmed this video on YouTube:

Get ready for one hell of a party in 2022! It’s a bummer, but fans will have to wait until next summer. And this summer hasn’t even started yet!
