Nicki Minaj has been accused of throwing shade at Ice Spice by appearing to ignore a compliment on an Instagram post.
On the social media platform, Nicki posted a picture of herself from nearly 20 years ago before she rose to superstardom, captioning it: “17 years ago [ribbon emoji] Crimped my own hair [tick emoji] Did my own makeup [tick emoji] 2 padded bras to make my boobs look bigger [tick emoji] Barbz!!!!”
The throwback post was lapped up by fans and fellow artists alike, including Ice Spice who jumped into the comments section and left a smiling face with heart-eyes emoji.
However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Nicki liked several other comments — including from the likes of Sexyy Red, Akbar V and Kim Petras — but not Ice’s.
The Bronx rap star’s comment is no longer visible, meaning she either deleted it or Nicki removed it, though the two are still following each other on Instagram.

Fans on social media were quick to react to the apparent shade, with one commenting: “She being ignored deliberately ice’s comment has the most likes…oh this is messy.”
Another wrote: “She is the only one without a like [crying face emoji] Nicki is sick.”
A third user came to Ice’s defense and claimed that Nicki had grown envious of the “Munch” hitmaker: “She’s taking Nicki’s spot. She already won. Nicki is 40+… her run has to end just like Beyonces and all the greats.”
Ice Spice recently admitted that she does not have the closest relationship with the Young Money legendRolling Stone. “We’re mutuals. We had smash records together. I love us together. I think the world does too.”
Ice also elaborated on text messages of hers that were leaked earlier this year in which she expressed frustration at Nicki over the business details of their “Barbie World” collab.
“I don’t really think she cares about shit like that coming from a random girl,” the Y2K! rapper said of Minaj. “But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have chose different words.
“But at the end of the day, regardless of how I felt in that moment, [Nicki] is still somebody I respect as an artist, and I’m always going to admire everything she’s done for me and the culture.”
In the leaked text messages, Ice Spice branded Nicki “ungrateful and delusional” as they attempted to work out the finer details of their collaboration for the Barbie film soundtrack.
Spice also claimed that Minaj was “jealous” of her because she owned her own master recordings, unlike the “Super Bass” star.
