What saddens me is that we are in a country that slaves built and the people think black did not do anything in it. Truth is that white has no real hand in this country except creating slavery for 400 years and white people are mad about the little mermaid because she is black. Did you know the first man to die in the revolutionary war was Crispus Attucks not a white man? Did you Know the white House was built and designed by slaves not a white man? Did you know the first open surgery was done by a black man, not a white man? So, a Little Mermaid should not make you mad. You should be mad that slavery even existed because black built this country, not whites. It is like saying Henry Ford created the cars and a black man created the first cars. George Washington carver created mass production. The plant was born. So, when I see these little black girls’ reactions it brings tears to my eyes I am 60 years old and I am still dealing with racism in this country and we had a black president that gave a lot to us. Trump and our country are more divided than ever. My only wish is that they would cast a black man as her love interest that would have been complete. Black love stories need to look large in this country. I would love to see this movie become one of the most successful Disney films in history because we need the representation so black people go out and see this movie like you did the first black panther. We need more stories to believe this matters.
