New Play A Matter of Faith Begins Performances Off-Broadway January 24
Written by Ian Richard Barnes, the play explores addiction, rehabilitation, faith, and the myth of perfection.

A Matter of Faith, a new play by Ian Richard Barnes, begins its world premiere staging Off-Broadway January 24.
Playing The Chain Theatre, the piece is directed by Augustus Childres and will run through February 4.
Starring Ava Paris Locknar, Henry Frontini, and Ian Richard Barnes, A Matter of Faith takes place in The Beacon rehabilitation center, where a recovering alcoholic named Patrick struggles to reevaluate his relationship with himself and his faith as he meets Kenley, his unpredictable roommate, and Izzy, a long since sober intellectual.
“A Matter of Faith is an exploration of the damage that blindly adopting dogmatic ideologies can do to people, when analyzed and upheld through such a rigid, exclusionary and close-minded lens. Part of what drew me to this show is the importance of that message being conveyed today, where everyone is so firmly polarized across most, if not all aspects of our society,” said Childres in a statement. “What this show, specifically this cast, does so well is illustrate the unique psychological tolls that this phenomenon takes on these characters.”
