NBA 2K23 is coming, and with it comes player ratings, which fluctuate based on player performance and sustainability in the regular season and playoffs. It’s time to predict the best point guards in the NBA 2K23. Here’s who we think will be the top five point guards tier list; their rankings are based on their attributes and abilities by the end of the 2021-22 NBA season (including the playoffs).
1. Steph Curry
Curry is the consensus-best point guard. In this year’s NBA Finals, Curry averaged 31.2 ppg, 6.0 RPG, and 5.0 APG. The Golden State superstar notched his fourth title and won his first Finals MVP. His fourth ring may have been the most important to his legacy and truly stamped him as not just one of the best players in the NBA but one of the greatest to ever do it.
2. Luka Doncic
In Luka Doncic‘s first four NBA seasons, he has already made three All-NBA teams, won Rookie of the Year, three ALl-Star teams, and led his Mavericks squad to the Western Conference Finals. His on-the-court displays have given him the nickname ‘Luka Magic.’ He completely decimated the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the 2022 NBA playoffs in a shocking upset that was his most significant playoff moment, proving his undeniable skills. With elite scoring ability and playmaking, Luka will easily be one of the best point guards in 2K23.
3. Kyrie Irving
Irving has played 11 seasons for the Cavaliers, Nets, and Celtics. Kyrie Irving has averaged 23.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 611 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 7 All-Star games and has won the Rookie of the Year award and 1 NBA championship. Therefore, Kyrie was still a top-three point guard.
4. Ja Morant
Despite getting booted out earlier than expected in the postseason, Ja Morant won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. He was also named to the All-NBA Second Team, the first Grizzlies player, finishing the season with a career-best 27.4 points per game scoring average. Morant also improved his rebounding average, scoring a personal best of 5.7 boards per game. His explosiveness, scoring ability, and play-making have propelled the young point guard into superstar status.
5. Damian Lillard
The six-time All-Star Damian Lillard had led the Trail Blazers to the playoffs in every season of his career except when he was named rookie of the year and in 2021-22 when he played just 29 games. Lillard spent most of the last season rehabbing from abdominal surgery, correcting a chronic injury that had plagued him at a low level for years. Without a doubt, he is still a top-five point guard in the NBA. Dame has elite scoring, can shoot three-pointers better than most point guards, and is still explosive.
