The story of the series is based on a criminal mastermind and his allies stealing two different heists, the Royal Mint of Spain, and the other one the Bank of Spain. The initiation of this series was limited to two season. On 2 May, 2017, the series went on air first on the Spanish television network channel named Antenna 3 and It went on aired till 23 November 2017.

Later on that year, Money heist was got the  global streaming rights, by Netflix. The production team shorted the series into 2 seasons, each season acquiring 22 episode. First season was released on 20 December 2017. Following, the second season was released on 6 April 2018.

Moreover, the series was renewed by Netflix which increased the new budget of additional 16 more episodes. Then the season three was premiered on 19 July 2019 and then season four was released on earlier this year 20, April. Yet season five, the finale season is to be released.?

The thrilling Spanish series was filmed in the beautiful city of Spain, Madrid. But different parts of the series were also filmed in Italy, Florence and also Panama, Thailand.

Álvaro Morte as The Professor

Who doesn’t love Professor? The fictional character was played by Alvaro Morte, which is famously known  as the ‘Professor’ but by name it is called Sergio Marquina. The character of the Professor is the master of the series. He is the one who assembled the gang to mastermind the heist. You may call him the Leader or the Boss of the team who sought out things, organizes the assaults and carefully plans on the Royal Mint and the Bank of Spain.

Alvaro Morte rose to fame and overnight success by portraying the character of the Professor. The audience think no one would have done justice to the character of The Professor other than Alvaro Morte. He has been admired and loved by viewers globally showing that the criminal mastermind can be soft hearted too, he portrayed that the criminal mastermind has a soft minded heart which does not allows to hurt other person. He is more famous by his character The Professor , rather than his own professional name.

Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo

Tokyo is another most admired and loved yet hated one also, character by viewers after The Professor. The character of Tokyo in this series is remarkably played by a  beautiful and talented spanish actress Úrsula Corberó. From the beginning of the series, Tokyo  has been viewer’s eyes to the two heists played out in The Money Heist, La Casa de Papel.  She portrayed a role of an unreliable narrator and a runaway robber who is hired by the Professor to be a part in his heists. Before being scouted to the Professor, she was a thief on the run from the police after a failed robbery in which her boyfriend was killed.


In 2017, Úrsula made her first appearance in a film, Do as Planned” but rose to fame by playing the role of Tokyo in the most watch criminal spanish series Money Heist. The character of Tokyo is portrayed bad to be consider as one, but really is not the worst character of the series.

Pedro Alonso as Berlin.

Berlin is another fictional character in the criminal spanish series, La casa de papel famously known as The Money Heist. In the series, Berlin is the second-in-command and little  brother of the Professor, who is a terminally sick jewel thief.


The role of Berlin is well played by Pedro Alonso. The character of Berlin is a bit disturbing. He is cruel, heroic, and funny at the same time who is cold and hypnotic too sometimes. By the last moments of second season , Berlin sacrifices himself  by dying under the police fire, so that the Professor and his gang can escape.

As an actor he made his first appearance along with Úrsula Corberó back in 2017 by playing in the film, Do It As Planned and rose to fame by being the part of the series Money Heist beside his first ever co-star.

Alba Flores As Nairobi.

The character of Nairobi in the series is played by Alba Flores. The fictional character of Nairobi serves as the quality manager of the gang of the Professor including himself. The character of Nairobi is one of the most widely considered of the show’s most popular characters.

Before being scouted to the Professor, Nairobi was an expert counterfeiter and forger, which she learned at an early age due to poverty. Nairobi is in charge of printing money in the first heist, Royal Mint of Spain in season one and two and then overseeing the melting of gold in the Bank of Spain in seasons three and four. She is most popular for using her catchphrase “chikipum chikipum chikipum” for leading the hostages and her gamg members with joy, passion, and enthusiasm. Nairobi is the most enthusiastic and charismatic character of the series.

Alba Flores also made her first appearance with her present co-stars Úrsula Corberó and Pedro Alonso in the film, Do it as planned in 2017, but  film didn’t get much recognition. She made her breakthrough in her career by playing the role of Nairobi in the Spanish series Money Heist, which received worldwide recognition.

Itziar Ituño as Raquel Murillo

A beautiful spanish actress, Itziar Ituño portrayed a  role of a fictional inspector Raquel Murillo for the National Police Corps. She is in a charge of investigation before she was forced by her authorities to resign for failing to stop the robbery at the Royal Mint Heist. After her resignation as a investigator she participated the gang of robbers to rob the Bank of Spain.

The character of Raquel Murillo is portrayed as a strong and powerful woman in a world full of men, but also sensitive in her private life. In addition to this character, it’s a role of a children and A FBI student who belongs to a messy family life developing sympathies for the criminals. Raquel is mostly loved for his chemistry with the mastermind of the gang The Professor. Their chemistry reveals the most romantic yet the most powerful vibes with two different personalities and characters.

Miguel Herrán as Rio

The fictional character of Rio in The Money Heist was played by a spanish young actor Miguel Herrá. He is best known for his  roles of Aníbal “Río” Cortés. He portrayed a character of a young expert hacker who participated in the heist of  Royal Mint of Spain.


Miguel also played a role pf Christian boy in another Netflix series but he is best known for portraying the character Rio in Money Heist.

Najwa Nimra as Alicia Sierra

The fictional character is played by a beautiful spanish actress Najwa Nimri. She portrayed a role of a sub inspector who is in charge to investigates the case to stop the robbery of the Bank of Spain by the Professor and his gang.

Najwa portrayed a role of a tough and cold hearted woman, who is an inspector, who will do what ever she has to do, to complete her job and get the outcome she desires. The character of Alicia Sierra made her first appearance on the series in the third season of the series where she was seen interrogating Rio.

Darko Peric as Mirko Dragic

Darko Peric is a Spanish actor. He best portrayed the role of Mirko Dragic who is called Helsinki by the Professor and his allies. Helsinki  is one of the most heaviest and tallest robber  with completely bald scalp and a large beard. He is one of the robbers of the heist of the Royal Mint of Spain and the heist of the Bank of Spain.

Enrique Arce as Arturo Román

Arturo Roman is one of the main fictional character of the series Money Heist. The character is played by a talented  spanish actor Enrique Arce. He is the director of the heist of the Royal Mint of Spain, he was also a hostage in starting seasons one and two. But later in season three he come backs to being a hostage as part of a bigger and better  plan to undermine the gang’s  new robbery at the Bank of Spain.

As the character of Arturo remained a bit unbearable in the first two seasons of the series, so the creators of the series opted to have season three opening, Arturo as a hero.

Esther Acetio as Mónica Gaztambide

The fictional character of Mónica Gaztambide is played by a beautiful spanish actress Esther Acetio, who is best known as Stockholm. She played as the secretary who is working for the heist of the Royal Mint of Spain the day she, among many others. She was taken hostage by the robbers, where she  fell in love with Denver, the one who looked after her when she was hidden in a vault in season one and two.

Later on, she become one of the allies of the mastermind, the Professor. Who renamed her as  Stockholm  as decided to escape with the gang and participated in the robbery of the heist of the Bank of Spain.

Jaime Lorente as Denver

Another one of the main fictional character of the series. The character of Denver is portrayed by young and talented Jamie Lorente, where he played as one of the allies of the Professor as a robber of the Royal Mint of Spain heist alongside his father, Agustín Ramos as Moscow.

The character of Denver  is known as the most hot headed guy but when it comes to the people he love he gotta show his sensitive side.

Roberto Garcia as Radko Dragic

Better known as Oslo. This fictional character is portrayed by Spanish actor Roberto Garcia who is also a cousin brother of one of the team members of the gang Mirko Dragic. These both cousin brother are identical because of their same heavy physique, bald scalp and dark beard.

He is the most strongest allies of the Professor who is a former war veteran and now a robber alongside with his cousin brother famously known as Helsinki.

Maria Pedraza as Alison Parker

The fictional role of Alison Parker is played by Maria Pedraza. Alison is at student tour at the Bank of Spain with her classmates when the heist of the Bank of Spain took place. And also the British Ambassador in Spain. The Professor and his gang knew that Alison would be an important hostage for them so they planned the heist with instrumental timings as hers.
