Upon first listen,“Rhapsody in Gaga,” presents visual and audible expressions inspired by the singer/songwriter. Every aspect of the music and the official video showcases astounding images and sounds which audiences from his generation will find familiar yet different. When he plays the notes and chords for “Bad Romance” and “Paparazzi” most viewers are likely singing along with his performance. However, he did not just stick with the traditional music; instead he took an approach that blended the Lady Gaga inspired sections with classical music. The collaboration between the music and the visuals makes for a fascinating piece of art.

The instrumentation is where this art shines the most. In the beginning of the song, the artist is using a variety of scales and notes. He arranges and performs them in such a way that may be found in chamber music or other traditional genres. He creates a wonderful audio whirlwind of sound that immediately draws audiences in. These types of sounds are strategically placed throughout the music in order to assist listeners in traveling from one part of the music to another. “Rhapsody in Gaga” is extremely creative, captivating and authentically expresses his being inspired by Lady Gaga.

Medleys like “Rhapsody in Gaga” is important to the world of music because it demonstrates how you can be inspired by an artist or a certain type of music, and bring new innovations to it in order to create unique sounds. In today’s world of social media, it’s extremely likely that Lady Gaga will see and appreciate this performance.
