Metro Boomin is bringing a $20,000 donation to each city on his tour with Future, all in support of single mothers.
The superproducer has launched the Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes grant program, named after his late mother, that will provide $20,000 grants and concert tickets in each of the 21 markets on his We Trust You Tour.
The first grant went to Essential Families, a non-profit organization based in Kansas City, following Metro and Future’s show in Missouri earlier this week.
Along with the financial donation, Essential Families allowed two mothers and their children to attend the concert for free.
Shortly before the announcement and first “We Trust You” shows, Metro Boomin held a special event for his hometown diehards in St. Louis, MO.
The “Too Many Nights” rapper held the Metro Boomin and Friends event at The Pageant in the Gateway City earlier this week.
Pluto and Metro will be performing in Milwaukee, WI tonight (August 2), before hitting Lollapalooza and invading Pluto and Atlanta, Toronto, Philadelphia, New York, Houston, Las Vegas and Inglewood, among other cities, before wrapping things up on September 9 in Vancouver.
The arena tour is in support of the pair’s recent collaborative albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You.
Metro has long been an advocate for single mothers, supporting them in any way he can.
Back in 2022, he partnered with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey foundation to kick off an initiative celebrating single moms as the everyday heroes they are.
The rapper and producer’s “Single Moms Are Superheroes” initiative was introduced in Atlanta, where Metro Boomin treated 26 mothers and their children to a VIP experience at the Falcons vs. Steelers game.
Earlier this year, Metro donated $100,000 to five non-profit organizations in his native city of St. Louis, Missouri.
This money went to help women overcome debt and cover expenses for childcare, rent and more.
“I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes into being a single mother. Mine was my inspiration and my hero,” the 30-year-old said in a statement. “It’s very important to me to pay it forward, because I see the same resilience and dedication in the women these organizations work with.”
In partnership with Amazon Access and Rung for Women and Amazon Access, he allocated $20,000 each to Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation, Little Bit Foundation, Almost Home, Parents as Teachers and the Haven of Grace.
