Meghan Kennedy’s The Counter Begins Performances Off-Broadway September 20

Meghan Kennedy’s The Counter begins performances Off-Broadway at Roundabout’s Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center September 20. Officially opening October 9, the play is a recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award.
David Cromer directs the work about an unlikely friendship between a waitress and a diner regular. Starring Anthony Edwards as Paul, Amy Warren as Peg, and Susannah Flood as Katie, the play deals with themes of suicide.
The Counter features set design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, and sound design by Christopher Darbassie. The production stage manager is Richard Hodge.
The Counter is funded by the Laura Pels Play Production Fund, established by a grant from The Laura Pels International Foundation for Theater. This work was previously supported by a Theatre Commissioning and Production Initiative grant from the Doris Duke Foundation.
