Ma$e’s Common Freestyle Gets Cam’ron & Joe Budden’s Approval

Ma$e has kicked off season five of It Is What It Is in style with a blistering freestyle over Common‘s “The Corner.”

While previous season premieres have seen co-host Cam’ron prove he’s still got it on the mic, the latest run of episodes are introduced by an equally impressive display from the former Bad Boy hitmaker — much to the approval of some of his rap peers.

Showcasing his jiggy flow over the Kanye West-produced beat, a leaner, youthful-looking Ma$e spits: “We can go body for body, hottie for hottie, thottie for thottie / Robbery for robbery, ‘Rari for ‘Rari, to homi for homi / Lobby for lobby, n-gga, choppy for choppy / We can go switch for switch and go lami for lami.”

He continues: “I’m so bossy call me Hugo, $80K on the Hublot / Cops pulled me out the two-door, I’m high as Pluto / Mamis love me like Menudo / Already got it, you know / I get a bag of blue notes to do their party, two shows.”

Killa Cam was the first to hype up Murda’s bars, writing on Instagram: “Nahhhhh!!! MURDER HOME!!! [steaming face emojis] @rsvpmase Now the price just went up[.] Season 5 on right now with @michaelirvin88[.] The greatest show on earth has returned!! Happy fucking Labor Day.”

He wasn’t the only one floored by Ma$e’s freestyle, with Joe Budden, Freeway, Symba and Gillie Da Kid all posting several fire emojis in the comments section.

Conway The Machine commented: “Yeaahhhhhhh [fire emojis],” while Twista added: “Yellow tape that whole studio up her murdered that.”

D-Nice concurred, writing: “Bro! Murda Ma$e! The flow is still crazy!”

Cam’ron Reveals He & Ma$e Have An Album Together But They ‘Can’t Put It Out’

After the dust settled on his dazzling lyrical display and the episode got underway, Cam’ron quizzed Ma$e about his 70-pound weight loss and jokingly asked if he “took the needle,” referring to the weight loss drug Ozempic.

“Nah,” his co-host answered with a laugh. “I signed up with this coach named Ricky Moore that’s a professional bodybuilder. He just put me on the alkaline diet so I’m only eating fruit, vegetables and water for now.”

It’s unclear if Ma$e’s “The Corner” freestyle will be made available on streaming services, but considering Cam’s own viral freestyle over D’Angelo’s “Cruisin’” received an official release, there’s a chance it could.
