Madden NFL 23 Predicting 5 Highest QB Ratings

Madden 23 will be released on August 19th, 2022. After the recent conclusion of its closed beta, it is still a ways away from the official release of Madden NFL 23. In the meantime, it’s perhaps a good time to review some rating predictions.

We all know how fun it is to debate ratings in Madden every year, so we figured while waiting for the official reveal, we would give you the players who we think will be the best at each position this year. Of course, we will start with the most important position: Quarterback. As such, here are our predicting five highest QB ratings.

1 – Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes was previously leaked as a 99 overall and the only quarterback to be in Madden 23’s “99 Club.”

Despite failing to reach the Super Bowl in 2021, Patrick Mahomes is still widely considered the most talented NFL QB. Many will question the rationale here considering he was not at his best last season. But maybe that is the entire point, that his best is higher than the others. He did not make it to the Super Bowl last season but to the AFC Championship game. That is more than the league MVP Aaron Rodgers and stats leader Tom Brady did. And despite being only 26 years old, Mahomes has already won a Super Bowl. So we feel he should be the best-rated in this year’s game. 2 – Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers was leaked as the second-best quarterback in Madden 23, behind Patrick Mahomes.

When Madden 22 launched, Aaron Rodgers had a 96 overall rating. However, since he ended last year on a high note by capturing back-to-back league MVPs. Last season, he threw for more than 4000 yards, had 37 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. His touchdown to interception ratio remains the best in the league and he has now won the MVP award in consecutive seasons. We expect to see his numbers rise once again with a 98 OVR in Madden 23. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t run like Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. But as a pure passer, he’s the best there is.

3 – Tom Brady

At launch last year, Tom Brady was given the second-best quarterback rating in the game at 97. The 44-year-old quarterback is set to return for his 23rd NFL season.

Last year, Brady led the league in passing yards with 5,316 and touchdowns with 43. In 2020, he threw for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns. Brady’s big question is whether he will finally start showing his age. It’s quite possible that Brady shows a decline this year, but for now, we have him as the third-best quarterback in Madden 23.

4 – Josh Allen

After a relatively slow start to his career, the 26-year-old Allen has made a tremendous leap in the past two seasons.

In 2020, he threw for 4,500-plus yards and 37 touchdowns. He basically matched those stats last year with 4,407 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. He’s also a dangerous threat with his legs, rushing for 763 yards and six touchdowns last season. So he is an absolute force to be reckoned with on the field and a true dual-threat quarterback capable of taking the game over at a moment’s notice. We expect Madden 23 will reward him handsomely for this.

5 – Russell Wilson

Despite missing three games of the regular season last year and subsequently, the playoffs. It’s hard to argue that Russell Wilson’s stock dropped off all that much in 2021.

Throwing for over 3000 yards and 26 touchdowns on just 5 interceptions in only 14 games. Ending with a 64.8 pass completion percentage and a 103.1 QBR. This is why we see him landing the same rating last year at launch with a 94 OVR. Expect he is one of the higher QB ratings in Madden 23 as a result.

That is our rating prediction for the best quarterback set to be featured in Madden 23. And be sure to stay tuned here as more information becomes available in the coming months.
