Her exploration of identity, love, and self-discovery resonates deeply with a diverse audience, making her an artist to watch. In celebration of Bi Visibility Day, on September 23rd, Lucy & La Mer released her new single, “Palm Springs.” This track is a vibrant and uplifting poolside anthem that showcases Lucy’s signature style, as well as lyrically delivering a powerful statement of acceptance and visibility for the bi+ community.
The artist passionately shared, “I set out to create a song that joyfully celebrates the journey of discovering your own unique connections and attractions. Labels should be about empowerment and visibility, not confinement. Sadly, there’s still an intense amount of stigma surrounding those exploring their sexuality, particularly those who don’t fit neatly into the straight or gay categories. We need to champion the bi-curious and foster an environment where multiple labels, or none at all, are embraced and celebrated.”
“Palm Springs” blends warm, sun-soaked melodies with heartfelt lyrics, capturing the essence of escape and self-acceptance.
Over the years, Lucy & La Mer has garnered acclaim for her previous work, including praise from Billboard – “Lucy is standing defiantly in the face of heteronormativity and daring to be different.” Her music is currently playing on major international airlines including British Airways, and her positive online content earned her a feature on a YouTube Shorts ad in Times Square NYC.
Beyond her music, Lucy is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness, using her platform to support and uplift marginalized voices. Her commitment to these causes was recognized by the US Consulate of Melbourne, Australia, who provided a grant for the artist to perform and speak as an international guest in June 2024.
As Lucy & La Mer continues to evolve and inspire, “Palm Springs” marks a new chapter in her artistic journey, celebrating love, visibility, and the vibrant spectrum of human experience.
