According to Variety, Lopez vs. Lopez has been given a full season on NBC.
The comedy starring George Lopez and his real-life daughter Mayan Lopez, will run for 22 episodes in its first season.
The shows logline says that the production “tells the story of a working-class old-school Latino (George Lopez) who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter (Mayan Lopez) as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time.”
The cast includes Selenis Leyva, Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively and Al Madrigal. Debby Wolfe is the executive producer and showrunner for the project. Universal Studios produces in association with Mohawk Productions.
According to NBC, the pilot episode was seen by 7.6 million viewers. The subsequent episodes had high viewership as well. Lopez vs. Lopez was one of two comedies to get a series pickup at NBC, the other being an untitled production set for a 2023-2024 season.
