A powerful earthquake rocked the Los Angeles area Monday afternoon, sending shockwaves through homes—and even shaking things up on the set of an “Emily in Paris” interview.
According to the US Geological Survey, the 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Highland Park, a neighborhood in Los Angeles County close to the iconic Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory, at approximately 12:20 p.m. local time.
Lily Collins, Lucas Bravo, and Ashley Park, who star in the Netflix show, were interviewing while on a press tour for season 4 of “Emily in Paris” when the earthquake shook the L.A. area.

Earthquake Hits Los Angeles Area
Lily Collins, Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu were conducting a video interview with InStyle Magazine when the earthquake unexpectedly hit the Los Angeles set.
“That was an earthquake,” Bravo said as his castmate, Ashley Park, was responding to a question. “I thought you were kicking my chair this whole time,” Park replied.
“Yeah, there’s an earthquake…” Bravo said once again before adding, “It’s still shaking. I want to look out the window.”

More On ‘Emily in Paris’ Season Four
According to reports, “Emily in Paris” is shaking things up in its fourth season, and not just because of the recent earthquake scare on set.
Season 4 picks up right where things left off, with Camille (Camille Razat) and Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) wedding called off. Emily (Lily Collins) finds herself caught in a love triangle, torn between her feelings for Gabriel and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
Meanwhile, her bestie Mindy (Ashley Park) faces her own drama as she prepares for the Eurovision Song Contest with her band and crosses paths with someone unexpected.
Fans will also see another side of its characters. “It feels like a different season, not in terms of the series, but they’re all kind of deeper within themselves,” Park said of the upcoming season.

Who Is Returning For Season 4?
Fans can get excited as Lily Collins and Ashley Park are set to reprise their roles as Emily and Mindy, joined by the show’s other key players: Camille Razat (Camille), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), and Bruno Gouery (Luc).
However, questions lingered about Lucien Laviscount’s character, Alfie. Despite being promoted to a series regular last season, Alfie’s dramatic exit in the final episode left fans wondering about his future. In a December 2022 interview with Deadline, ‘Emily in Paris’ creator Darren Star teased Alfie’s fate, stating, “I don’t think romantically he is in the picture [anymore]. I don’t think that [takes] Alfie out of the show.”

“He certainly has a reason to be in Paris, and he’s working with Gabriel,” he added. “I feel like all of our characters are still connected, just in a more complicated way.”
Lily Collins Talks ‘Emily In Paris’ Fashion
By June 2019, Lily Collins was on a plane to New York for a meeting with Patricia Field, the legendary costume designer known for “Sex and the City.”
Collins was meeting with Field, the consulting costume designer for the first two seasons of “Emily in Paris,” in preparation for the Netflix show. She took a cautious approach to avoid overwhelming Collins, and so Field later shared PDFs packed with images of clothing, shoes, bags, and more with the actress.
Collins provided her feedback, believing she was simply offering guidance rather than making specific requests. But when she arrived in Paris for her first fitting in August, she was surprised to find all her selections waiting for her.

“I was blown away,” Collins told InTouch, adding that playing the iconic role helped get her back into fashion. “Emily, in a lovely way, takes up so much space,” she said. “Mixing patterns and prints, textures, styles in a way that was foreign to me, I started to realize that I didn’t have to be afraid of color anymore.”
