Their new track mentioned many K-Pop divas.
The HYBE girl group LE SSERAFIM recently made their comeback with the album CRAZY, which features a title track of the same name.
While the title song itself received positive reactions from listeners, the album’s performance overall has been troubling. One of the B-side songs, “Pierrot,” has especially received quite the ridicule for its lyrics.
Particularly, some netizens have criticized the group name-dropping IU and Lee Hyori in the pre-chorus. The line goes: “Let the reins go loose
IU and Lee Hyori, who’s next?”
The song’s first pre-chorus also shouts out K-Pop’s timeless divas, Kim Wan Sun and Uhm Jung Hwa, in a similar context.
Though the lyrics are clearly intended to pay homage to the legacy of these K-Pop artists, many criticized the writing style for being old-fashioned and cringey.

“Pierrot,” however, has also received a lot of positive attention from fans, especially for its catchy tune and the clever incorporation of choir-style vocals that gave it a new edge.
