For all artists, there is an artist call of the US Las Laguna Art Gallery to represent cultural icons as people or objects that represent a culture or country. Such as a red telephone booth for the UK or Eiffel Tower for France or an iconic person that represents the country. Pop icons can be movie stars, athletes, or people from history. It is the competition for the exhibition in order to explore the premise of cultural or pop icons. Acceptable mediums are Acrylic, Airbrush, Charcoal, Collage, Color Pencil, Computer Art, Digital Art, Digital Photography, Drawings, Encaustic, Fiber Arts, Glass Art, Graphite, Illustration, Mixed Media, New Media, Oil, Pastel, Pen and Ink, Photo Assemblage, Printmaking, Sculpture, Traditional Photography, Video, and Watercolor. The submission deadline is August 8, 2021 and an entry fee is $35 for up to 3 images.
The same gallery organizes another online exhibition, to challenge artists to explore the concept of memory and time. It is an online exhibition and all media is acceptable.
The concept is the notion of time with the idea of perception, and all local, national and international artists, both professional and amateur, and multiple art mediums are welcome to submit. This Call for Art will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. The deadline for this competition is 4th September 2021.
