Yasiin Bey‘s daughter Laila!‘s star continues to rise as she recently got a co-sign from Cardi B, who’s a fan of the 18-year-old’s new collab with Cash Cobain.
On Wednesday (August 14), Cobain finally released his eagerly anticipated new song “Problem,” which features 14 guests in total including Laila!, whose recent hit “Not My Problem” is prominently sampled.
Featuring droning synths and pounding bass, the drill-flavored track boasts verses from an array of MCs including Big Sean, Fabolous, Luh Tyler, Rob49, Flo Milli, 6LACK, Kaliii, Anycia, Don Q, YN Jay, Lay Bankz, Kenzo B, Chow Lee and Flee.
Taking to her Instagram Story early the morning after the song dropped, Cardi filmed herself singing along to Laila!’s part of the song, clearly indicating she’s a fan.
It’s not unlikely that a collab between Cardi and the newcomer could happen in the future, as the Bronx superstar has been known to collaborate with new acts she’s a fan of including GloRilla and FendiDa Rappa.

Laila! has been steadily gaining success in 2024, and just recently confirmed that Yasiin Bey was, in fact, her father.
During a conversation with Complex earlier this month, the singer and producer confirmed the longstanding rumors – while also revealing what her dad would say in the earliest days of her music making.
“Yes, he is my dad, y’all. The rumors are true,” she laughed.
“I kind of just always been my own artist in a way, and that’s a cool thing because I feel like as a kid whenever we would jam sesh and vibe out, me and him, I always had my own style, I always had my own thing going on. And he’s always just been like, ‘Okay kid, I see you!’”
Laila! also stopped by Angela Yee’s Power 105.1 radio show and talked more about her upbringing, noting both Bey and her mother (who is also her manager) have always been supportive of her career.
“They’ve always been so supportive of everything that I’ve wanted to do,” she said. “They never question what I want to do. My mom, my dad, you guys have always just been like, ‘Okay, that’s what she’s gonna do. That’s Laila!’”
“And I feel like that’s always made me feel like I can take on the world, or I can show the world who I am because I’ve always had that in my life.”
